An Alachua County man was arrested Friday on allegations he head-butted a women in the face and hit and choked her, according to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office report.
Justin Wayne Dampier, 28, was charged with domestic battery by strangulation, obstructing justice and resisting an officer without violence.
The relationship between Dampier and the woman was not stated in the report and could not be learned from the Sheriff’s Office on Saturday.
The report states Dampier head-butted the woman in the face, pushed her against a wall and choked her by grabbing her around the neck and pushing his thumbs on her throat.
The victim told authorities that she felt like she was losing consciousness. The report states she had redness around her neck.
Dampier is also accused of pulling the phone cord from the wall so the woman could not call 911. The report states that a witness saw some of the actions by Dampier.
The Sheriff’s Office also reported that Dampier pulled away from a deputy who was attempting to arrest him.
