Game times changed for Dante Anderson Memorial Invitational

Ten teams will play five games in Saturday’s seventh annual Dante Anderson Memorial Invitational at Eastside High, capped off with the host Rams taking on Miami Southridge.

Anderson, who tragically lost his life in a car accident on May 19, 2007, led Eastside to a state basketball title his sophomore season in 2006. He was considered the top college prospect in Florida when the accident occurred.

Games scheduled for Saturday are as follows: West Orange vs. Williston, 2 p.m.; Leesburg vs. Hawthorne, 3:30 p.m.; St. Petersburg Lakewood vs. Gainesville, 5 p.m.; Miami Norland vs. The Rock, 6:30 p.m.; Southridge vs. Eastside, 8 p.m.

Norland has won four state titles in eight years and the last two in Class 6A, beating Gainesville in the 2013 state semifinals. Admission is $8 for all day.
