With the close of yet another holiday season comes the inevitable lack of bands performing, which is a shame.
But fear not, there are plenty of fun things to do that don't necessarily involve live music. With that in mind, maybe one should reflect on the joy that live music can bring to one's life.
Even if you don't go to concerts on a regular basis, you must admit that without the option, life would seem just a bit duller. So, go to some of the subsequent end-of-year celebrations with the knowledge that live music shall once again breathe a little life into your weekends.
High Dive hosts a local hip-hop showcase Friday featuring performances by Marley “The Messenger” & DJ Robzilla, Shermy D, Streetlamp Theory, False Flag, Blazel, Jimmy Crow Blue and Fleetwood Boss, starting at 9 p.m.
DJs Cliff and Cameron Gregory will spin all of your favorite disco, funk, new wave and hip-hop records 'til the break of dawn, or at least until last call, on Friday at The Atlantic starting at 10 p.m.
DJ Cameron Gregory will once again spin his heart out, along with DJ Wax Atom, on Tuesday during The Atlantic's Champagne Jam, starting at 9 p.m.
If DJs and dancing aren't the way you'd like to ring in the new year, head over to High Dive on Tuesday to try your hand singing in front of your new best friends that you will totally call next week during Karaoke hosted by Trevor Forever, starting at 9 p.m.
