They might be called The Takers, but they sure do give out a heavy dose of rock ’n’ roll. The Takers aren’t actually a band anymore, but you’d recognize every one of its six members as Gainesville staples, with its members being in Whiskey & Co., Snakehealers and Adult Boy Thunderband. Singer-songwriter Devon Stuart’s pensive and clever lyrics mingle meaningfully with the “outlaw”/rock heart of the band.

But they’re not around anymore, so why should you care? Luckily for you and your friends, The Takers are reuniting for one night on Friday at Loosey’s, where they’ll perform along with Bradenton’s Have Gun Will Travel and Matt Woods, from Knoxville, Tenn., starting at 9 p.m.
