Bonds, Miller lead Gators past Troy in 104-74 rout

Jaterra Bonds and January Miller scored 22 points apiece, and the Florida women’s basketball team routed Troy 104-74 on Wednesday, a night that saw five Gators score in double figures.

The Gators and Trojans battled back and forth in the opening minutes of the game, but consecutive jumpers from Bonds early in the first half sparked a 19-0 run during the first half, and Florida never looked back, taking a commanding 56-33 lead entering the half.

Kayla Lewis led the Gators with 15 rebounds, and Bonds added five assists. Cassie Peoples scored 17 points for Florida, with Carlie Needles adding 11 points and Christin Mercer scoring 10.

Kelley Beverley led Troy with 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists.

Florida (6-3) returns to Gainesville on Dec. 17 to face St. Francis (Pa.).
