University Police arrested a UF student Saturday night after they say she headbutted and kicked officers after they found her drunk at a library.

Officers responded at 11:40 p.m. to a report of an intoxicated person on the University of Florida campus at Library West and found Claudia Pokropinski, 19, of 11100603 Beaty Towers. When Pokropinski saw the UPD officers she ran and they chased her through the Plaza of the Americas.

After she was captured, police said Pokropinski began to resist commands by pulling her arms, kicking her legs and headbutting an officer twice. While she was being medically evaluated, Pokropinski kicked Gainesville Fire Rescue EMS personnel and other officers, the report said.

Police said Pokropinski also attempted to spit on EMS and an officer. Officials said she was highly intoxicated and did not care for the safety of others, the report said.

Pokropinski was arrested on a felony count of battery on an officer and a misdemeanor count of disorderly intoxication, according to the police report. She was released from the Alachua County jail as of Monday.
