A 30-year-old Middleburg woman was critically injured Saturday morning in Dixie County when the all-terrain vehicle she was driving collided with a pickup truck on Dixie County Road 361, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Jennifer M. Beaudry was driving a 2007 Suzuki King Quad ATV southbound on C.R. 361 at about 11:40 a.m. when her ATV was struck by a 2005 Ford F150 being driven by Stephen L. Ward, 50, of Cross City, who was also going southbound on C.R. 361 immediately behind Beaudry’s ATV, FHP said.
Ward attempted to pass Beaudry’s ATV, troopers said, and Beaudry, apparently unaware that Ward’s truck was behind her, tried to turn left onto Southwest 345th Avenue just as Ward’s pickup was passing her.
Beaudry was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in critical condition, FHP said, while Ward was not injured. Charged are pending further investigation, troopers said.
