A Gainesville woman was charged Wednesday night with aggravated assault after she allegedly brandished a glass beer bottle and threatened to “bash” another woman with it.
Teneisha Gladden, 37, was arrested at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a Gainesville Police Department report.
Gladden, who wanted to speak with her husband, had arrived uninvited at a woman’s apartment where her husband was a guest. Gladden went into the kitchen to speak to her husband and then walked into the living room and began accusing a female guest of being involved in a past incident with her husband. Gladden asked that woman to fight and brandished the open beer bottle, threatening to bash the woman with it, the report states.
The woman who was threatened told police she remained sitting on the couch while Gladden stood in the room and swung the beer bottle from side to side. She told police she was afraid Gladden was going to hit her in the head with the bottle, the report notes.
The woman who lives in the apartment told police she stood in front of Gladden and asked her to leave.
Gladden’s husband gave the same account of what happened. He said he left the apartment with Gladden to put an end to the altercation.
Gladden denied being at the apartment after she was read her Miranda rights, the report said.
She was arrested and taken to the Alachua County jail.
