Deputies arrested a Gainesville woman Sunday evening after they said she threw a brick at a car while the father of her child was inside.
Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies said Francesca Lee, 22, of 2521 NW 67th Place, and the father of her child had both arranged to meet at 2503 NE 70th Terrace at 5 p.m. to exchange the child they had in common, the report said.
The victim told deputies he called Lee because he could not drop off the child at the usual location, but she told him to drop off the child at that location anyway. When he went to drop off the child, Lee was sitting on the front porch, the report said.
Deputies said the victim handed the child to Lee, and they started arguing over the car the victim was driving because there was a previous dispute over who owned it, according to the report.
Lee grabbed the victim by the shirt and pulled him toward her. The victim ran to his vehicle after he got free and Lee picked up a brick and threw it at the windshield of the car, the report said.
The windshield and and the passenger side windshield wiper were both damaged by the brick. After she was arrested, Lee told police she did not touch the victim, but that she did throw the brick.
Lee was arrested on one misdemeanor charge of battery and one felony charge of a weapon offense. She is being held as of Monday at the Alachua County jail.
