DURHAM, N.C. — Duke scored halfway through the first half Friday and made it stand up for a 1-0 win over No. 6 Florida in the second round of the NCAA soccer tournament.

Duke (9-8-5) took a 1-0 lead into halftime when Natasha Anasi scored off a corner kick with 21 minutes left in the first half.

The Gators, winners of the SEC regular-season championship, close their season with an 18-5-1 record. UF again played without the services of injured All-SEC midfielder Havana Solaun.

Duke faces Arkansas (15-8), which defeated St. John's 1-0 earlier in the day, at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Round of 16.

“Hats off to Duke. They defended hard. But I'm proud that these Gators left it all on the field,” UF coach Becky Burleigh wrote on her Twitter account.
