Kayla Lewis couldn’t have asked for a better birthday, as she scored a game-high 21 points and the Florida women’s basketball team defeated Kennesaw State, 83-62, at the KSU Convocation Center on Sunday afternoon.
Lewis was playing in front of a large gathering of family and friends, who made the 25-mile trip from her hometown of Decatur. Several members of the Atlanta Gator Club also were in attendance, cheering Florida onto its first road win of the year.
Freshman Ronni Williams contributed 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting, as Florida converted 56.9 percent of its shots during the game. Sophomore January Miller tallied 13 points, while Antoinette Bannister added seven points and Cassie Peoples six with a game-high 8 assists and four steals.
