The Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce executive staff and staff from FloridaWorks gave the basketball court at the Porters Community Center a makeover last Friday. Staci-Ann Bertrand, business opportunities manager with the chamber, said the team from the chamber and FloridaWorks painted the faded lines on the court black, red and white, including the out of bounds, free throw and half court lines.

In addition, they painted a black "P" at center court and a red, trimmed in white, one-foot diametric circle around it, while also painting two hopscotch and two four-square boxes for the children in the community.

Bertrand said the chamber chooses one community service project to do annually on the Friday of the University of Florida Homecoming parade.
