'Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan, the man who helped the AMC series break big as the groundbreaking series ended its five-year run in September, speaks Tuesday at the Phillips Center in a free appearance presented by the University of Florida's ACCENT Speakers Bureau. Gilligan will discuss the show — winner of the 2013 Emmy for Best Drama — and his career as a writer and series creator.

The pop duo Capital Cities and neo-soul group Fitz and The Tantrums bring their sounds to the Phillips Center in a free show starting at 7 tonight. Remaining free tickets become available to the general public at noon today at the box office.

Grammy-winning bluegrass singer/guitarist Peter Rowan performs with his band Tuesday at the Thomas Center. Tibetan vocalist Yungchen Lhamo opens the concert at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. and food, including Indian dinners for $4, will be available as well.

Jazz vocalist Mark Raisch performs Tuesday at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in a concert presented by the Gainesville Friends of Jazz. Accompanying Raisch will be guitarist Marty Liquori, saxophonist Ben Champion, keyboardist/bassist Vic Donnell and drummer Billy Bowker.
