The state workforce agency and 23 regional workforce boards will be changing their names under the unified brand CareerSource next year to improve customer awareness and provide greater clarity, according to a news release.
Workforce Florida will become CareerSource Florida. FloridaWorks, the regional board over Alachua and Bradford counties, will become CareerSource North Central Florida.
Most of the regions’ current names include the word “workforce,” but names also include The Center for Business Excellence, WorkNet Pinellas and Southwest Florida Works.
The agencies administer programs funded by the U.S. Department of Labor to provide job placement and training services for job seekers and businesses, including a network of one-stop career centers and the EmployFlorida.com site to list job openings and post resumes. FloridaWorks operates one-stop centers in Gainesville and Starke.
