Spend ‘Twilights’ at the Matheson

Celebrate the harvest season with the inaugural "Twilights at the Matheson Museum."

The first event will be "An Evening in the Botanical Gardens," and will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Matheson at 513 E. University Ave. Tickets are $20, and will feature a wine and beer tasting, along with hors d'oeuvres made from local fruits and vegetables of the season.
The program also will feature "Little Jake and the Soul Searchers," a Gainesville old-school R&B and blues band. There also will be an opening reception for the new exhibit, "Florida Flora and Fauna." Learn about the symbols of Alachua County and browse the photography of both amateur and professional photographers, including John Moran, Justine Vaughn, Jeff Ripple and Dr. Mark V. Barrow.
In the Botanical Gardens, enjoy a place "where nature and culture meet." See hundreds of white lights illuminate over 130 varieties of native plants.
