The ladies of the Mu Upsilon Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. held the 4th annual Pink Dress Luncheon to observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which was October.

It was held last Thursday at the Senior Recreation Center. It was sponsored by the Twenty Pearls Foundation, Inc., the charitable and educational arm of the sorority.

The speaker was Dr. Judith Litsey, assistant professor of oncology at the University of Florida College of Medicine.

During the event, Deborah Butler, owner of Butler Enterprises, received the Twenty Pearls Foundation Visionary Pearl of Distinction Award in recognition of her support, community transformation and generosity.
