Fall concert

First United Methodist Church will host the Voices Rising Community Chorus Fall Concert.

It will be held at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at the church at 419 NE 1st St. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to benefit Friends of Elementary Arts Inc., which supports and enriches art and music programs in Alachua County Public Schools.

Hymn celebration

Greater Love and Faith Ministries will host "Then Sings My Soul ... Thanksgiving Hymn Sing," a celebration of some of the greatest hymns.

It will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at the church at 902 SE 10th Terrace. A free song booklet and CD will be given to each person in attendance.

The performers will include The Messengers, Travis King, Lauren Howard and an ensemble.

Women's Day

Johnson Chapel Baptist Church will host its annual Women's Day celebration.

Services will be held Sunday beginning with Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and morning worship at 11 a.m. at the church at 1334 NE 4th Ave. The theme is "Women of God Being Equipped for Service."

The speaker will be Ora White of Springhill Baptist Church in Gainesville.

Women's conference

Dayspring Baptist Church will host its 15th annual Women's Conference.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, 8:30 a.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m Sunday at the church at 1945 NE 8th Ave. Registration is $25. The theme is "On the Right Track for Jesus."

The services and speakers will be:

* Friday: The Rev. Shirley Smith Fountain of Paradise Community Church. There also will be a skit titled "Glory Train" performed by the ladies of Dayspring.

* Saturday: Mini-breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed at 9 a.m. with a workshop titled "Who is God and What is the Love of God?" Lunch will be served.

* Sunday: Minister Pat McCullough of Hawthorne.

Women's conference

New Horizon Outreach Ministries, along with In the Valley Women's Ministry, will host their 2nd annual Women's Conference.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. through Friday, 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the church at 127 NE 15th St.

The speakers will be: Thursday, Evangelist Phyllis Stevens; Friday, Evangelist Cotina Carr Gamble; Saturday at 9 a.m., Prophetess Cathy Williams; Saturday at 6:30 p.m., Prophetess Leroyal Edmondson; Sunday at 11:30 a.m., co-Pastor Crystal Griffin of New Horizon, and Sunday at 6:30 p.m., co-Pastor Michael Griffin of New Horizon.

Women's Day

Mount Moriah Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Women's Day service.

It will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the church at 718 SE 11th St. The theme is "Power of a Praying Woman." Women are encouraged to wear purple.

The speaker will be Missionary Brenda James of Anderson Memorial Church of God in Christ in High Springs.

Brunch, anniversary

Jesus Christ of Nazareth Worship and Praise Temple will host a brunch and its 17th church anniversary.

The brunch will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the church at 436 NW 2nd St.

The anniversary celebration services will be held at 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, also at the church.

The afternoon speaker at 3:30 p.m. will be the Rev. Renette Slater of Friendship Baptist Church in Gainesville.

Women's conference

Victory & Deliverance Life Changing Ministries will host its 2013 Women's Conference.

It will be held at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14-15 and 11:30 a.m. Nov. 16 at the church at 238 SW 3rd Ave. The theme is "Destined to Live Victorious."

The speakers will be: Nov. 14, Pastor Winter Brown of Gainesville; Nov. 15, Prophetess LaTonya Hutchinson of Jacksonville, and Nov. 16, Pastor/Prophetess Kenya J. Young of Jacksonville.

Hopewell Baptist Church will honor its leaders, the Rev. Russell Sebree and First Lady Greta Sebree, for 10 years of service to the church.
