A Gainesville woman was arrested Sunday night after police say she threatened her roommate with a kitchen knife over house repairs.
At 7:28 p.m., the victim and a witness returned to their house and found Brenda McLain, 52, of Apt. 253 8620 NW 13th St., throwing furniture out of their house, Gainesville Police said. McLain was upset because she had been moved from her bedroom to the living room because of repairs that were being made to the floor, the police report said.
The victim told police McLain was yelling obscenities at him, so he and the witness went into McLain's bedroom to get away from her, the report said.
McLain came into the room with a 10-inch kitchen knife held above her head and told the victim she was going to kill him, the witness told police. Police said the witness intervened and took the knife away from McLain.
McLain was arrested on a count of aggravated assault. She was being held without bond on Monday at the Alachua County jail.
