A stronger dollar and growing U.S. stockpiles of oil, which rose another 4 million barrels last week, have contributed to the price decline, according AAA's weekly Fuel Price Brief.
"Oil supplies continue to increase even as production wanes, which is helping to push both oil and gas prices lower," said Jessica Brady, AAA spokeswoman with The Auto Club Group. "Retail gas prices are expected to move lower again this week - a trend that will likely continue throughout the month."
Nationwide, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline dipped about 3 cents in a week to $3.25 on Monday, according to the auto club.
In Florida, the average price dropped 4 cents for the week to $3.24.
In Gainesville, the average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.36, down 2 cents from the previous Monday, according to the crowd-sourcing website www.gasbuddy.com.
In Ocala, the average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.22, down nearly 6 cents from the previous Monday, according to the crowd-sourcing website www.gasbuddy.com.
