Gator athletes boast an 83 percent graduation rate

Statistics show that Florida is doing a strong job of graduating its athletes.
Florida's Graduation Success Rate is at 83 percent, according to a report released by the NCAA on Thursday. The report measures college athletes from freshman classes ranging from 2003-06.
Florida is tied with Georgia for fourth-highest in the 14-team Southeastern Conference. Vanderbilt (91 percent) has the highest GSR score in the SEC, followed by Alabama (86 percent) and Missouri (84 percent).
By sport, Florida's GSR numbers are as follows: men's sports — golf 92 percent, tennis 80 percent, baseball 78 percent, footbal 77 percent, cross country/track 72 percent, swimming 71 percent and basketball, 60 percent; women's sports — basketball 100 percent, softball 100 percent, volleyball 100 percent, soccer 93 percent, gymnastics 92 percent, swimming 91 percent, cross country/track 89 percent and tennis, 83 percent.
