A Gainesville woman was arrested Sunday after police say she beat her boyfriend with a skillet over an argument about food.
Gainesville Police say Teresa Rae Mimbs, 47, of Apt. I6, 2725 SW 27th Ave., and her boyfriend of a year were fighting over food at 3:30 a.m. when Mimbs struck the victim with a skillet, breaking the handle, the police report said.
The victim tried to stop Mimbs from hitting him with the pan again, so she scratched his face and neck, the report said.
Police said the victim had a knot on his head and several scratches on his face. Mimbs had a small scratch on her right arm, the report said.
Mimbs told police she had hit her boyfriend with the skillet and scratched his face when he was restraining her, according to the report.
Mimbs was charged with one count of simple battery, the report said. She was released as of Monday from the Alachua County jail.
