Cold front to swing through area by midweek

Cloudy skies and afternoon thunderstorms are expected early this week, but conditions will dry up and cool down when a cold front comes through the region Wednesday.

Today and Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from the low 80s to the high 60s.

Showers will begin to clear up on Wednesday with a 20 percent chance of showers expected in the morning.

Temperatures are expected to drop Wednesday as cool, dry air moves in. Wednesday highs will run in the high 70s, with lows reaching 50 degrees Wednesday night.

The sun is expected to come out and stay bright amid clear skies starting Thursday and moving into the weekend. Temperatures will range from 50 to 75 degrees.
