A pedestrian walking along a Levy County road Friday night died after he was struck by a pickup truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Dead is Brian Douglas Larkins, 31, of Williston, FHP stated in a press release.

The accident occurred about 8:20 p.m. on Northeast 105th Avenue just north of 86th Street.

A 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jacob Brock Morrison, 18, of Trenton was northbound on 105th Avenue while Larkins was in the northbound lane.

FHP reported that the right front of the truck hit Larkins. Morrison made a U-turn and stopped along the road. Larkins was determined to be dead at the scene by Levy County EMS.

The report noted that it was dark at the time of the collision and the street was not lit. Morrison provided a voluntary blood sample, which will be analyzed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
