Roundup: Gator soccer hosts LSU in key SEC match

Florida hosts the SEC's second-place soccer team, LSU,starting at 1 p.m. Sunday at Pressly Stadium. The match airs live on Sun Sports (Gainesville/Ocala Cox cable channel 48 or 1048).
The Gators will honor seniors Haley Reeb, Maggie Rodgers,Taylor Travis and Caroline Triglia in a pre-match ceremony. UF's senior class has amassed a four-year record of 66-18-5 (.770). They have been a part of two SEC title teams and advanced to NCAA play each of the last three seasons.
LSU (9-4-2 overall) enters with a 5-1-1 SEC record, while the No. 8 Gators (11-3-1) share third in the standings with a 5-2 record.
Cross country: Mark Parrish highlighted the day for UF the Wisconsin adidas Invitational Saturday, when the Gator senior eclipsed the school's men's 8K record at Wisconsin's Thomas Zimmer Championship Course.
Parrish used a 23:34 for 11th overall in the field of 288 men's athletes, topping former Florida cross country All-American Jeremy Criscione's 23:35 8K school record set in 2008.
Both Florida's men's (542) and women's (522) cross country squads turned in 22nd-place showings in Madison, the Gators' last race before the championship portion of the season begins Nov. 1 in Gainesville with SECs.
Swimming and diving: The University of Florida women's swimming and diving team (1-0, 1-0 SEC) trails California (2-0, 2-0 PAC 12), 135-108, after the first day of competition at the Spieker Aquatics Center in Berkeley, Calif. Natalie Hinds came through with a pair of victories in the sprint events. The sophomore touched in 22.82 in the 50 free. Hinds came back out to win the 100 free in 49.67 in front of Cal's Rachael Acker.
