Sometimes finding the motivation to work out seems to be tougher than the workout itself. Just visualizing the effort makes us want to curl up with a bowl of ice cream and watch the “The Biggest Loser” contestants sweat it out instead. As much as we want to look and feel our best, it can be difficult to push ourselves to the point of discomfort that creates change. The surprising fix: a shopping trip.

Just as buying a new dress may initiate a night out, investing in new workout wear may motivate you to hit the gym more often. You might actually get excited about going for a run when sporting attractive, well-fitting and sweat-wicking garb as opposed to an oversized, cotton T-shirt and a pair of sweatpants. Something as simple as donning sleek, graphic leggings just may have the power to boost your confidence and make you work harder, ultimately improving your workout.
