Dwight Hart was named president and CEO of Alarion Bank effective Tuesday after serving as chief operating officer and executive vice president.
Hart replaces Jon Kurtz, who retired in 2012, and interim President and CEO Loralee Hutchinson. Kurtz and Hutchinson remain on the board of directors.
Hart has nearly 40 years of banking experience and joined Alarion in 2010, where he was integral in the expansion of the bank's residential department, according to a news release.
His appointment received state and federal regulatory approvals.
“Dwight has proven to be a tremendous asset to Alarion Bank,” said Job White, board chairman. “He has contributed heavily to our success in tough economic times, and I have every confidence that the organization will thrive under his leadership.”
Alarion Bank, founded in 2005, has six full-service branches in Alachua and Marion counties and mortgage offices throughout North Florida.
