Short lockdown lifted at Terwilliger Elementary School

Terwilliger Elementary School was temporarily locked down Tuesday afternoon while Gainesville police officer pursued a man who had fled a car crash nearby.
The school at 301 NW 62nd St. was cleared by 2:24 p.m.
Gainesville Police Department spokesman Officer Ben Tobias said officers were pursuing a man who had fled the scene of a car crash near the school. The man was soon captured and found to be in possession of drugs, Tobias said.
