Woman's Day

Mount Olive AME Church will host its annual Women's Day Celebration.

It will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the church at 721 SE 8th St.

Women in White

The Women's Day committee at Mount Moriah Baptist Church will host a Women in White service.

It will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the church at 718 SE 11th St. Women are encouraged to wear white.

The speaker will be Evangelist Argatha Gilmore, chief of the Lake City Police Department.

Women's celebration

Compassionate Outreach Ministries will host its 2013 Women's Weekend Celebration.

It will consist of a banquet at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Hilton UF Conference Center at 1714 SW 34th St. and a worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday at the church at 320 SE 43rd St. Banquet tickets are $30.

The speakers will be: Saturday, a highly anticipated surprise guest speaker, and Sunday, Dr. Joycelyn Barnett of West Palm Beach.

Love revival

The Greater Gainesville District Church of God in Christ will host its "Greater Love" Revival 2013.

Williams Temple Church of God in Christ will host the three-day conference of the "5th Sunday Union."

The 39th Avenue Church of Christ will host a Fall Gospel Meeting.

Mission breakfast

The Women Home Mission auxiliary of the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Association will host its annual Barbara Higgins Scholarship Breakfast.

It will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the association at 8810 NE Waldo Road in Fairbanks. Tickets are $8 in advance and at the door.

The topic of the event, which raises funds for scholarships, will be "G-R-I-T-S," an acronym for "Girls Raised in the South."

The speakers will be: Portia Barton of First Morning Star Baptist Church in Gainesville; Venita Coney of Springhill Baptist Church in Gainesville; Connie Smith of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Gainesville; Leola Williams of Johnson Chapel Baptist Church in Gainesville, and Bernise Jackson of Nolan Baptist Church in Williston.

The Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Association will host its 139th Annual Session.

It will be held beginning Monday through Oct. 4 at the association at 8810 NE Waldo Road. Services will be:

Deacon honored

Grove Park Community Christian Church will host an Evening of Honor for Deacon Mark I. Brown.

It will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church at 5717 SE 152nd St. in Grove Park. Members of the community are invited to share a song or funny story to illustrate how Brown has touched their lives.
