Who's 'Topdog'?

'Lend Me a Tenor,” Ken Ludwig's full-tilt farce about a Cleveland opera company and its last-minute replacement star, ushers in the Gainesville Community Playhouse's 2013-2014 season. The production, with a cast including Laura Jackson as Maggie and Michael Glover as Max, continues through Sept. 29 at the Vam York Theatre.

Known performances on more than 30 instruments including mandolin, didgeridoo and kazoo, the Melbourne-based Brevard Busking Coalition makes a guest appearance tonight at 1982, as part of The Reverend Angeldust's Tabernacle of Hedonism, hosted by Tom Miller. Doors open at 9 p.m.

The all-female group Patchwork performs its trademark folk-and-bluegrass hoedown on Sunday at the Prairie Creek Lodge. Jacksonville singer/songwriter Larry Mangum opens the show at 6:30 p.m.
