DAYTONA BEACH — Bob Huff made sure he gave his daughter away at her wedding, even if it was from his hospital bed in Daytona Beach.

"I was going to put off surgery," said the 67-year-old Huff from Catlin, Ill. But when his abdominal pains grew worse over dinner Thursday, his daughter grabbed him by the arm and told him he had to go the hospital.

As Bob Huff was being prepped for surgery to unblock an obstructed bowel Friday morning, Bobbie Huff and her groom-to-be exchanged vows on the sand as they had originally planned. Her brothers gave her away, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported (http://bit.ly/1602xR6 ).

Then, the entire wedding party went to Halifax Health Medical Center to repeat the ceremony. Bob Huff was all smiles before being wheeled into the operating room just moments after his daughter tied the knot to Derek Hillery in a chapel inside the hospital — with Huff, on his hospital bed, by their side.

"My dad planned the whole wedding," said Bobbie Huff. "He is my life."

Family and friends credited the staff at the hospital and the wedding planner for making the bride's dream a reality.

"The hospital showed an outpouring of love for the family," said Pam Trocell, the groom's mother. "They made it possible to have the entire family together when we didn't think it could be done. We couldn't have planned (it any better)," she said.

Pastor Willey Lowe says it's rare to have two weddings with the same couple in the same day, but this was his first wedding in a hospital.
