About Tianna Sousa

Occupation: Leasing Manager

Years in Gainesville: 2.5

She not only is a full time student at UF majoring in veterinary medicine, but she also holds a full time job because although she was fortunate to get scholarships it wasn't enough to cover all costs. So she has no choice but to work to pay housing, utilities, transportation and food. This alone would exhaust a student but she also volunteers so much of her time to fostering animals and being a part of Operation Catnip (performing surgical procedures on hundreds of stray cats weekly). She has been sought out by Gainesville Wildlife for help as well. She donates her time anywhere it is needed without reservation. Through all this she manages to keep good grades. We always tell her she needs rest but she prefers the busy life because she wants to make a difference and she knows her future depends on it. She has made such a difference in such a short time that she has lived in Gainesville.
