The Union Street Market brings 45-55 vendors and over 1,000 customers each week, and more during peak seasons. It also provides a venue for musicians and community groups to perform for live audiences. A number of nonprofit groups set up at no charge each week as a community service. By providing a weekly event with music and outdoor vendors in downtown Gainesville, it has become a prime destination for many people, including families. Come rain or shine, the Market is there. The Union Street Market has made Gainesville a place that promotes sustainable and organic agriculture and commerce by providing a dynamic marketplace for local small farmers and artisans.
