Gators drop to No. 12 in AP poll

Florida dropped two spots in the latest Associated Press Top 25 college football rankings released today.

Impressive wins by LSU and Florida State helped knock UF down to No. 12. UF opened with a 24-6 win over Toledo.

Alabama remains at No. 1 and received 58 of 60 first-place votes from the media panel, with Oregon moving up to No. 2, Ohio State down to No. 3, Clemson at No. 4 and Stanford at No. 5. South Carolina, Texas &M, Louisville, LSU, FSU, Georgia and UF round out the top 12.

The Gators (1-0) visit Miami (1-0) for a noon game Saturday on ESPN.

In the USA Today’s coaches poll, UF jumped a spot to No. 9. The Hurricanes enter at No. 24.
