Oak Hall girls cross country wins Bob Hans Invitational

Oak Hall’s girls cross country team took first out of 18 schools at Saturday’s Ridgeview Bob Hans Invitational in Orange Park, led by senior Brittney Olinger, who finished second overall (19:32.91).

Teammates Nadiria Evans (19:54.68), Lauren Perry (20:11.68) and Grace Blair (20:17.96) finished in fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively.

At the Spikes and Spurs Classic at Flagler County Fairgrounds in Bunnell, Isabella Whelan of Buchholz took first, running the 5K course in 20:20.50. Teammate Sarah Edens placed third (20:37.50) as the Bobcats finished third as a team. Alexx Smock (22:33.90) and Olivia Sanchez (22:51.20) also helped keep pace for Buchholz.

In the boys, senior Andrew Monteau finished eighth (17:40.70) for Buchholz, which took fifth as a team. Karsten Pease (17:24.90), John Dougherty (17:59.20) and Adam Dougherty (18:08.50) rounded out the Bobcats’ top finishers.
