With the plan to use him on offense, defense and special teams, junior Loucheiz Purifoy is expected to play more snaps than any other Gator this season.
But he will play none Saturday in the opener.
The Sun has confirmed that Purifoy, a starting cornerback, is one of five players who have been suspended from Saturday's game against Toledo for a violation of team rules. The others are starting middle linebacker Antonio Morrison, defensive tackle Darious Cummings, wide receiver Latroy Pittman and offensive lineman Quinteze Williams.
UF coach Will Muschamp said Wednesday that Morrison was the only player suspended from the opener. But that, apparently, has changed, according to reports.
Purifoy will be replaced in the starting lineup at cornerback by senior Jaylen Watkins, who is listed as the co-starter on the depth chart released by UF on Monday.
