A school bus making a turn onto Southwest 44th Avenue Monday afternoon sideswiped a car and did not stop, a report said.
The Alachua County School District bus was at a stop sign at the intersection of Southwest 20th Terrace and SW 44th Avenue at 2 p.m. when a 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis approached from the east on SW 44th Avenue, the Florida Highway Patrol report said.
As the bus made a left turn to travel west on SW 44th Avenue, the Mercury - driven by Cherier Sumpter, 23, of Gainesville - stopped in the road to allow room for the bus to pass.
The left side of the bus hit the left side of the car, and the bus kept on going west on SW 44th Avenue. The bus driver has yet to be identified, the FHP reported. No one was reported injured in the incident.
