Sites for displaced Starke Elementary students revised

Bradford County School District officials on Monday released new information on where students displaced from Starke Elementary School will be assigned as mold

remediation efforts continue at the facility.

The school’s roughly 500 students in prekindergarten through fifth grade were sent home with a letter on Thursday informing parents the school would be closed immediately.

Students will resume classes in alternate locations on Sept. 3, Bradford schools spokesman Brian Graham said.

The district revised the locations on Monday:

Pre-K: Madison Street Baptist Church, 900 W. Madison St. (904) 966-6896. This is for both Starke Elementary School and Southside Elementary School starting Wednesday.

Kindergarten: Southside Elementary School, 823 Stansbury St. (904) 966-6061.

First Grade: Lawtey Elementary School, 22703 N. Park St. (904) 966-6795.

Second Grade: Lawtey Elementary School, 22703 N. Park St. (904) 966-6795.

Third Grade: Bradford County School District, 501 W. Washington St. Starke, (904) 966-6800.

Fourth Grade: Southside Elementary School, 823 Stansbury St. Starke (904) 966-6061.

Fifth Grade: Santa Fe College Stump Building, 520 W. Pratt St., Starke (904) 964-2763

Parents with multiple children can request a special pupil assignment to Lawtey Elementary School to keep siblings in the same location. Call Lawtey Elementary at (904) 966-6795.
