Jeff Myers submitted his resignation as P.K. Yonge's boys basketball coach on campus to athletic director John Clifford on Monday.

Myers coached two seasons with the Blue Wave, posting records of 9-13 and 14-12 in 2013, in which they finished second to St. Francis in District 3-3A tournament and lost convincingly at Daytona Beach Father Lopez in the regional quarterfinals.

“He told me he was going to get out of coaching basketball,” Clifford said. “I will need to get with the administration and start the process of finding a replacement. He said he wanted to spend more time with his family.”

This will be the third head coaching hire Clifford will be making in four months. In late April, he hired Chad Davis as volleyball coach and hired Kent Johnson as football coach in late July.
