A woman died Saturday afternoon in Columbia County when an all-terrain vehicle on which she was riding overturned, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
Dead is Gina Marie Rodriguez, 31, of Fort Lauderdale, FHP stated in a press release.
The accident happened at about 12:40 p.m. on Old Bellamy Road west of U.S. 441 in southern Columbia County. Rodriguez was on a 2003 Polaris Ranger with Michelle Elizabeth Texeria, 29, of Hollywood, and Kevin Andrew Edwards, 24, of Cooper City.
The driver, who has not been determined, failed to maintain control of the ATV, FHP said. The vehicle rotated in a clockwise motion and overturned on its side, FHP reported.
Rodriguez was ejected from the vehicle. Texeria and Edwards had minor injuries. Blood samples were obtained, and the results are pending. Charges are also pending, FHP said.
