The program receives as much as $50,000 from the city and county annually to provide funding for additional homeless shelter space on nights when the temperature drops below 45 degrees.

Quasi-government agencies and nonprofit organizations with current 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status are eligible to apply.

The city will accept applications from 7 a.m. Monday until 5 p.m. Sept. 19. Funding awarded will cover additional shelter space from November to March 2014.

Applications must be submitted online at https://agency.e-cimpact.com/home.aspx.

A non-mandatory application workshop is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sept. 4 at the United Way of North Central Florida, 6031 NW First Place.

Assistance with the online application will be available at this workshop.
