Onna Maya Meyer, raised in Gainesville, has lovingly shared her creativity for dance and everything art by making hula hoops. For the past five years she has brought them to the Bo Diddley plaza for the Farmer's Market to share with kids of all ages. Onna has shared with the after school programs at the Hippodrome, Hoggetowne Middle School, and the library. At these places she takes time showing them how to make their very own and how to use them. Onna is also a great photographer, capturing the magic in the moment at many local events. From concerts to birthdays, Onna is there, her smile radiating. She works diligently to edit photos, make and sell hoops as well as house keeping for many local families to earn a living. Her path will continue to weave through the many trails of Gainesville, co-creating with nature, community and love. Often times you can catch a glimpse of her riding her eco-friendly pedal powered bike trailer for hula hoops from Kanner Karts throughout town. Rainbow Warrior Hoops and Rising Sun Photography on Facebook is also where you can view her beautiful self expression.
