WINTER HAVEN — Two men have been charged with second-degree murder after authorities say they shot a man in a drive-by shooting in Winter Haven.
Authorities say 25-year-old Carl Booker got into a fight outside of a Winter Haven bar earlier this month. He was later seen in another argument with the same group at a nearby store.
Polk County Sheriff's deputies say a driver in a white SUV approached Booker while he was standing outside, yelled "I told you I was gonna get you" and then fired several shots, killing Booker.
Deputies charged 24-year-old Alexander Rodriguez and 23-year-old Alfred Ervin on Friday. Rodriguez was already in jail on unrelated charges.
Both suspects have an extensive criminal history mostly involving drug possession. They are being held without bond and were slated to have a first appearance Saturday.
