CITRA - A Williston man was taken to the hospital late Thursday morning after the truck he was driving overturned and spilled logs on County Road 318.

Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Geoffry Pudillones said the driver, Matthew Joseph Lare, 54, was westbound on CR 318 and was coming around a curve. A rear passenger's side tire on the trailer blew out and caused the truck to roll over.

Lare, who was out of the cab when Fire Rescue officials arrived, was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center in stable condition.

The driver's wife, Linda Williams-Lare, said he was on his way from Williston to Palatka to drop the load off at a mill. She said he has been a truck driver since 2001 and has worked for S.C. Fugate Transport Inc. of Williston since May.

The two-lane road was briefly blocked, but officials were allowing cars to drive around the accident scene a few at a time.
