On Wednesday night, a Gainesville man who was convicted of three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of domestic stalking in January for attacking an ex-girlfriend broke into the home of a new girlfriend who is pregnant on Wednesday and attacked the victim in the presence of her 11-year old child, according to a Gainesville Police Department arrest report.

Anthony Giordano, 36, got into an argument with his live-in girlfriend over his drinking early in the evening and came back to the northwest Gainesville home intoxicated and “acting crazy,” the victim told police. The victim locked the doors and refused to the let Giordano back into the house, the report stated. Giordano then punched through a bedroom window and entered the apartment, police said. In fear, the woman said she fled to her daughter's bedroom and attempted to hold the door closed by pressing her body against it.

Giordano forcefully pushed the door in, breaking the frame and causing the door frame to hit the victim in the back, police said. The woman retreated again to a corner, telling police she was afraid.

Giordano then began trying to hug the victim as she tried to push him away, she told police. Giordano attempted to flee when he heard police arrive, but was apprehended on the scene. EMS had to treat him for cuts to both his hands from punching in the window.

Giordano was sentenced to three days in jail after he pleaded guilty in January to multiple counts of aggravated battery and domestic stalking against a different victim. He is currently being held in the Alachua County jail without bond.
