We would like to nominate John Roberts. John’s consistent area of philanthropic focus is those organizations that benefit children the most. John serves on the boards for the Child Advocacy Center, where he is the Treasurer, and Greater Gainesville Rotary, which he was previously the President and currently serves as a director, and has donated significant time to Habitat for Humanity, Backpack 4 Kids, Salvation Army, and has taught classes for Junior Achievement. He also donates monetarily to many various charities. One of which, Christ’s Starfish Foundation, provided Christmas gifts for children who were hospital bound during the holiday and whose parents would not have the ability to shop for their children, either due to time or money constraints. So far this year alone, John has donated over 60 hours of his time. This does not include his efforts amongst his church community, which is very active in.

About John Roberts
Occupation: Commercial Lender for Community Bank & Trust of FL
Children: 2 daughters - Audrey and Addison
John’s work with the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) will have a lasting impact because he is helping integrate the CAC and Child Protective Services (CPS) to aid them in working more efficiently and reduce the stress on already scared children. His hope is that after a child is brought to CPS between the two services the child will have one person who is there with them through whole process. This would give the child something stable in a suddenly chaotic environment.
John is also involved in helping the local economy through his job, he provides small business loans to start ups and established companies.
