A Lake City woman suspected of assaulting another woman, including biting her and pulling out a clump of her hair, was arrested early Tuesday morning when police stopped her car and saw the victim’s hair on the dashboard.
Lake City police went to the Columbia Arms Apartments, 1448 S. Marion Ave., at 6:30 p.m. Monday after a report of a fight. A woman told the officer she was by the pool when Kimberly Roberts, 26, approached her and hit her several times and yanked a patch of hair from her scalp, the report said.
The 28-year-old victim had a left black eye, a bite on her left index finger, scratches on her back and hair pulled off of her head.
An officer stopped Roberts’ car at 12:41 a.m. Tuesday for careless driving and noticed the victim’s hair on the top of the dashboard, the report said. The hair was collected as evidence.
Roberts was arrested on a charge of battery. She was in the Columbia County Detention Center on Tuesday on a $1,000 bond.
