Five Bar has signed a lease to move into the former Lasso's Steakhouse location at 104 S. Main St. It will be open for dinner and Sunday brunch.

“We like to do a few things and do them well,” said Cris Eddings, co-owner of Five Bar, which is shooting for an October opening.

The menu is based on simplicity -- “five entrees, five bar snacks, five reds, five whites, five signature cocktails.” Entrees range from $12 to $26 and include cheeseburgers, fried chicken, pork chops and duck tacos, among others.

Eddings' partner, Charles Morgan, owns Harbor Docks, a 34-year-old seafood restaurant in Destin, as well as a wholesale seafood market that supplies Five Bar with fresh seafood.

The first Five Bar location opened in Tuscaloosa, Ala., in January 2011, with subsequent locations following in Birmingham, Ala., and Athens, Ga.

Which Wich Superior Sandwiches

Which Wich Superior Sandwiches will join the previously announced BurgerFi in the new Butler Plaza building under construction at 3524 Archer Road, Butler Enterprises announced this week.

The Dallas-based restaurant, with more than 300 locations, plans to open in October.

Customers are given a red sharpie and brown paper sandwich bags to mark their orders for toasted sandwiches. The menu also includes hand-dipped shakes.

Which Wich offers catering.

The new building is on the site of the former Checkers and Florida Citizens Bank buildings demolished earlier this year.

4 Rivers Smokehouse

4 Rivers Smokehouse is shooting for an Aug. 26 opening, depending on permits and construction close-out, according to a company Facebook post.

The Winter Park-based restaurant with four other locations is coming to 3262 SW 35th Blvd. in The Esplanade at Butler Plaza.

4 Rivers describes itself as “a sophisticated Texas-style smokehouse.”

Wharf Express

Wharf Express is opening Aug. 28 at 3333 SW 34th St. in the University Towne Center.

The location will be the ninth for the Tallahassee-based fast-casual seafood restaurant.

Yummy House

Tampa-based Chinese restaurant Yummy House signed a lease for the former KFC location at 7605 Newberry Road, according to Dan Drotos, commercial Realtor with Bosshardt Realty Services. The owner was not available for questions Tuesday.

The location previously housed the short-lived Asian Cafe.
