Florida football fans will have four chances to get a sneak peek at the Gators before their Aug. 31 opener against Toledo.

Florida will hold the first of four open practices on Thursday at the Donald R. Dizney Lacrosse Stadium. The start time of the practice has been moved back from 2:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

“That will be a good day, for our younger players in particular,” Florida coach Will Muschamp said. “You’ve got to go out and play in front of people.”

Subsequent open practices will be held Saturday (9:05 a.m., Ben Hill Griffin Stadium), Monday, Aug. 19 (7:45 a.m., Sanders Football Practice Facility) and Tuesday, Aug. 20 (9:35 a.m., Sanders Football Practice Facility).

Last year, Florida had just one open practice during fall camp. In 2011, in Muschamp’s first season as coach, there were no open practices.

Florida’s open practice on Saturday will be held in conjunction with UF fan day. Florida football and volleyball players will be available to sign autographs from 3-6 p.m. at the O’Connell Center, but will only be permitted to sign posters that will be provided at the door. Due to NCAA compliance rules, no outside items can be signed by football or volleyball players.

In addition, the lobby of the Heavener Football Complex will be open for fans from noon to 6:30 p.m. for fans to view UF’s crystal national championship trophies from 1996, 2006 and 2008.
