Florida will get a chance to showcase its 2013-14 men's basketball team on a national stage early this season.
The Gators will play Nov. 12 at Wisconsin on ESPN2 (9 p.m.) as part of ESPN's two-day college hoops marathon (Nov. 11-12).
Florida returns two starters (center Patric Young and point guard Scottie Wilbekin) and five reserves from a team that finished 29-8 and reached the Elite Eight for the third straight season. Wilbekin, though, is currently suspended from the team indefinitely for violation of team rules. No timetable has been set on his return.
The Gators will be adding incoming freshman McDonald's All-American point guard Kasey Hill and transfers Dorian Finney-Smith (forward, Virginia Tech) and Damontre Harris (center, South Carolina). Both Finney-Smith and Harris are now eligible after sitting out last season due to NCAA transfer rules.
Freshman McDonald's All-American forward Chris Walker also could join the team if he's deemed academically eligible. Another transfer, Rutgers guard Eli Carter, is still awaiting word whether he can gain a waiver to play right away this season in wake of the player abuse scandal involving former Rutgers coach Mike Rice.
