Afternoon rain, high temperatures to continue this week

The summer weather pattern of recent weeks - high temperatures and humidity, followed by rain at some point during the day - will continue this week, according to the National Weather Service’s Jacksonville office.

Monday will see a high of 91 and a low overnight of 71, the NWS said. There is a 30 percent chance of rain, mainly after 2 p.m. and before midnight.

On Tuesday, the rain chance rises to 40 percent in the afternoon and before midnight, with a high of 92 and a low of 73.

The rain chance on Wednesday climbs to 50 percent in the afternoon, dropping to 20 percent later in the evening and a low of 73.

Thursday and Friday and into the weekend, the NWS predicts a 30 percent chance of rain with a high of 91 and low of 73.
